On July 3, 2024, the Health Services Research & Pharmacoepidemiology (HSRP) Unit of the Fisabio Foundation joined the SIGMA Consortium as a new Member Organisation. The HSRP Unit is a multidisciplinary group whose goal is to develop the scientific bases needed to support policy and decision-making in health care by providing decision makers with the means to evaluate health systems in terms of quality, access, costs and utilization of health services, and thus assessing the impact of different interventions to improve the population’s health.
The Fisabio HSRP Unit has expertise in several research designs and has an extensive knowledge of statistical modelling, analytical scripts coding and comparative effectiveness research in several areas (pharmacoepidemiology, evaluation of policies or quality improvement interventions, comparative assessment of the quality of health care, etc.). Currently, it is one of the research groups with more experience in this field in Spain, using observational real-world data, mainly from the electronic information systems from the Valencian Health Service which covers a population of 5 million inhabitants. They are experienced in leading or collaborating in international, nation-wide and local projects, many of them with distributed data, and converting their data into several common data models.
The SIGMA Consortium warmly welcomes this new member to our group and is eagerly looking forward to continuing collaborating with Dr. Gabriel Sanfélix-Gimeno, Aníbal García-Sempere and the rest of the Fisabio Team!
